Don Akkermans (1957) was marketing manager, editor, and director in the companies of Reed Business, Kluwer, and Wegener and held different positions at Dutch Publishers Association from 1980 to 1995. Since 1995 he is active as a broker and producer in the communications/publishing industry. As of 2005 Akkermans is a media entrepreneur, specializing in Business and Special Publishing. Since 2011 he is also managing director of Zhomer company EIM. Akkermans is the author of several books, articles, and columns on marketing and media.

Ingrid Mulder (1960) works in the field of employment conditions and employee benefits since 1984. In 2004 she became Director Legal, Tax & HR within the Zhomer-management. Until 2004 she worked as a senior manager at Deloitte Actuarial & Pensions, including the Unit Mergers & Acquisitions. Before that, she worked at Hewitt Associates and AON as an actuarial calculator/pension adviser. Ingrid also volunteered for Breast Cancer Association Netherlands (BVN) and participated in the Department of Advocacy, the working group WAO / WIA / Insurance, and the Platform Cancer and Work of the Dutch Federation of Cancer patients.

Erik Jansen (1973) started his career in 1999 with Internet Service Provider Concepts ICT as Manager Publishing and General Manager of the web development branch. In 2002 he started to work for the biggest entertainment retail company in The Netherlands: Free Record Shop. There he worked as Marketing Manager Internet and Managing Director for the online division of the holding. In 2010 he joined forces with Jean-Pierre Joos as director/owner of online publishing company Xingo BV. In 2012, this company was sold to Zhomer and Jansen has been Zhomer’s CDO since 2014.

Maarten Timmers Verhoeven (1963) started at Misset in 1990. He was publishing manager at Kluwer and Sdu Publishers, where he became chairman of the board of directors in 2005. He led the migration from traditional print media to large scale online concepts. Previously, he gained experience in e-commerce in PCM as director of online bookstore BoekNet. In 2007 he started at Zhomer as managing director of Lenthe, up until the sale of the marketing portfolio to BBP Media, where he was appointed as publishing director. He returned to Zhomer in 2014, as CFO of the holding company and as Vice Managing Director of Elektor. He is also working as board member of various cultural institutions.

Advisory board

Both young and experienced media entrepreneurs and experts provide Zhomer with financial and strategic advice, based on their knowledge and insight. Flexible in structure, this informal advisory board is composed amongst others of the following members:
